What Is the Subdomain Field During Onboarding?
When you first set up your Blitz Rocket account, Step 3 of the onboarding process asks you to choose a subdomain. This is the unique part of your Blitz Rocket URL — for example, if you enter littlepaperbannerco, your pages will be hosted at littlepaperbannerco.blitzrocket.com (or similar).
Some new users get stuck at this step or see an error message when trying to enter their subdomain. Here's what you need to know.
What Is the Subdomain?
The subdomain is a short, unique name that identifies your account on Blitz Rocket. It becomes part of the web address for your campaigns and competition pages. You only need to set this once during onboarding.
Tips for Choosing Your Subdomain
- Use lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only — no spaces or special characters.
- Keep it short and recognisable — your brand name or business name works well (e.g. littlepaperbannerco).
- If your preferred name is already taken, try a slight variation (e.g. littlepaperbanner or littlepaperbannerco2).
Common Reasons the Subdomain Step Gets Stuck
- The name is already in use — subdomains must be unique across all Blitz Rocket accounts. Try a different variation.
- Invalid characters — make sure you're not using spaces, capital letters, or symbols like
@,!, or. - Browser or connection issue — try refreshing the page or using a different browser.
