How Entry Worked
- •Confirming an email earned 30 points, and every referred friend added 100 points.
- •Four one-time follow tasks worth 50 points each covered Cosmology Skin on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook plus a second Instagram account, @villa_sayuri.
- •The highest-value task paid 200 points for a website purchase of at least $50 and could be repeated daily.
- •A 100-point video upload task asked entrants to create their own content.

Cosmology Skin is a skincare brand that sells through its own online store at cosmologyskincare.com. In September 2024 it ran a Blitz Rocket giveaway on baligiveaway.cosmologyskincare.com under the headline "Win a 5-Night getaway to Bali for you and a friend!" The prize was a trip rather than product, and the page kept its instructions to a single line: "Enter → Share → Collect Points → WIN!"
The campaign ran from September 15 to October 15, 2024. The page recorded 47,406 page views and 3,048 sign-ups, of which 1,415 confirmed their email. Entrants completed 2,920 bonus actions, about two for every confirmed entrant, and most of them were follows on the brand's social channels.
Campaign Strategy
A trip for two is a prize with broad appeal that does not depend on the entrant already using the product. That makes it a good fit for reaching people who have never bought from the brand. The "you and a friend" framing also gives every entrant an obvious person to send the page to.
Entrants signed up with their email address and earned 30 points for confirming it. The bonus tasks were grouped around three goals:
- Social follows (50 pts each): follow @cosmology.skin on Instagram, follow the brand on TikTok, follow it on Facebook, and follow a second Instagram account, @villa_sayuri.
- Purchase (200 pts, repeatable daily): visit the website and spend at least $50.
- Creator content (100 pts): upload a video.
The one-time tasks were worth 300 points in total. Once an entrant had worked through them, the only ways to keep climbing were the repeatable purchase task and referrals. There were no milestone rewards: points simply added entries to the single draw.
Viral Mechanics & Growth Engine
Every referred friend was worth 100 points, more than three times the 30 points for confirming an email and twice any single follow task. With a trip for two as the prize, the referral ask was simple: send the page to the friend you would take.
The follow tasks did most of the work. The top action was following @cosmology.skin on Instagram, with 825 completions, followed by 720 follows of @villa_sayuri, 597 TikTok follows and 566 Facebook follows. The second Instagram account finished about 13% behind the brand's own, which shows how much reach a co-featured account can pick up when it sits in the same task list.
The purchase task logged 196 completions. Because it could be repeated daily, that figure counts completions, not unique buyers. Only 16 video uploads were logged, which suggests a creation task needs a bigger reward or a clearer brief to compete with one-click follows.
Results & Impact
- 3,048 sign-ups, of which 1,415 confirmed their email (46%).
- 47,406 page views over the month, about one sign-up for every 16 page views.
- 2,920 bonus actions completed in total.
- 2,708 social follows across four accounts, led by 825 Instagram follows of @cosmology.skin.
- 196 completions of the repeatable $50-minimum purchase task.
The 46% confirmation rate is the number to watch. Fewer than half of sign-ups finished the email step, so the confirmed list is much smaller than the raw sign-up count. A larger confirmation reward than 30 points is the first lever to pull on a rerun.
Why This Strategy Works
Travel prizes work because they sell a feeling rather than a product. An entrant does not need to know the brand to want a holiday, and the brand gets to attach itself to that feeling at the moment of sign-up. The follow tasks then turn a one-off entry into a lasting connection on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, where the brand can keep talking to that person after the draw.
The purchase task adds a second layer. Giving a $50 order the campaign's highest point value gives existing fans a reason to place an order during the promotion, and because it repeats daily, loyal customers can keep improving their odds. For a DTC beauty or wellness brand that wants to grow its social audience and nudge sales in the same month, this is a compact template to copy.
Key Takeaways
- Use an experience prize to reach beyond existing customers. Nobody needs to know the product to want five nights in Bali.
- Build the referral into the prize. "You and a friend" gives every entrant a natural person to invite, and each referral paid 100 points.
- Feature a second account in the task list. @villa_sayuri collected 720 follows, close to the brand's own 825.
- Give the top point value to a purchase. The 200-point, $50-minimum shop task logged 196 completions during the campaign.
- Protect the confirmation step. Only 46% of sign-ups confirmed, so the confirmation reward deserves as much thought as the prize.
